A few short weeks ago I received an email from Kathryn (@ATXGastronomist) asking if I would be part of the @AustinBakes for Japan event, helping out with PR/Social Media efforts, as well as baking gluten-free items. Of course I said yes to this request, how could I not say yes? Austin, TX has such an amazing food community and the fact we were pulling together food bloggers, bakers, local businesses and individuals interested in helping out with the relief efforts for Japan was touching to stay the least! Listen to an interview with Cecilia Nasti of KUT Radio 90.5 Field & Feast on how this event came to fruition!
Let me just say that Kathryn our fearless leader (@ATXGastronomist), pulled this event together in less than 30 days with a fantastic group of Austin Foodies: Lisa (@LisaisCooking), Shelly (@Franishnonspeak), Stephanie (@VeganLazySmurf) and Carly (@lifeincocktails). Special mention to Annie over at @Keepercoll, Jodi of @TastyTouring for your awesome efforts on the Social Media & PR front and to the Austin Food Blogger Alliance for the mention(s) on our event!
